A foreign adult mens’ magazine owned by a billionaire Indian NRI is offering actress, TV host, anchor and cricket commentator, the 5-month pregnant Mandira Bedi a whooping Rs 50 lakh (net of taxes and cuts) to go fully nude with her baby bump showing.
Mumbai-based gossip and entertainment journalist and publicist Flynn Remedios disclosed that the billionaire businessman whose family tree has its roots in India was a great fan of Mandira Bedi and wanted her to be the cover girl for a coming issue of his magazine. We were contacted in December 2010 for the shoot and have been trying to contact Bedi since then.
According to a statement released by Flynn Remedios, “We tried to contact Mandira Bedi but it seems she has changed her phone nos. She didn’t respond to us on Twitter either and seemed peeved about an article on a similar issue in the Hindustan Times,” said Remedios, adding, “However, the photo shoot if and when it takes place will be a very expensive, sophisticated and classy affair – if Mandira agrees to it that is – and will be shot by an internationally famous photographer team known for their nudes worldwide and immortalized by their calendars which are collectors’ items and sold for like USD 1000 a piece each year. Though she is expected to be fully nude, the photos will be art pics with a lot of light play and not much of her anatomy would show. We are not permitted to give any more info, and even this story was not meant for public consumption, but since the press got wind of it earlier and since Mandira didn’t respond to us, we decided to talk about it to the media.”
The same magazine has approached two more Bollywood actresses and one south siren for art nude photoshoots and negotiations are in progress, said Flynn Remedios. “One Bollywood actress has consented to do an art nude shoot and will be paid an undisclosed sum, upwards of Rs One Crore for a one day shoot, informed Remedios. The actress is among the top seven reigning queens of Bollywood is all he would say when queried about the identity of the individual.

While no official confirmation was available and Yana Gupta or her managers refused to comment on this issue on record, it seems that Yana seems to be in no mood to at least immediately accept the offer. Maybe after the news of legal proceedings against her broke, she must have decided to go underground and stop interacting with the media.

Says editor of futuristicmedianetwork.wordpress.com and scandal and gossip guru, “We had genuine uncensored and unedited no panty photos, but we took an editorial decision not to put them up on our blog. We have only put up those photos which were already online on various other websites. We were approached by a UK-based adult men’s magazine to part with the uncensored photos for a hefty price but we turned down the offer and told them we do not have the photos. We do not believe in making money in an unethical and immoral way. Though Yana Gupta did show her crotch at a media event, in full glare of several TV and still cameras, we have refused to put up the uncensored photos.”
Futuristic Media Network got several offers from various other men’s magazines in India to part with or sell the uncensored photos and video clip, but refused to do so. Now that the matter is in court, with a Lucknow magistrate taking cognizance of a complaint, we are glad we didn’t put up the unedited photographs, says Flynn Remedios, adding that several photographers are trying to make a fast buck peddling fake, manipulated, digitally altered and morphed photos of Yana Gupta’s crotch. “In terms of content value, the pics are hot today. A cell phone company representative also approached us for the photos, but we turned them down,” says Flynn Remedios.

A report on a TV channel in Mumbai has suggested that item girl Yana Gupta could have been allegedly paid to go ‘pantyless’ and create the publicity stunt which was the talk of the town for a few days. The idea was to give the charity event that she attended some ‘free publicity’ and additional media mileage than would have otherwise accrued to the event. The TV report has suggested that Yana Gupta was ‘currently not so happening’ compared to other ‘more happening’ item girls or pin-up and Page 3 models and the wardrobe malfunction brought her into the lime light once again with both Mid-day and Bombay Times front-paging the ‘accident’.

Says Flynn Remedios, “We told them (the magazine) we don’t have such photos and do not know of any photographer who has uncensored, unedited Yana Gupta’s wardrobe or panty-less pics as they have come to be known about in the media. They first thought we were bluffing or playing hard to get and offered us ‘as much money as we wanted’. They were ready to pay even Rs One crore for 2-3 good, high resolution, clear-crotch photos. We asked them to put their request in writing and send us an email,” says Flynn Remedios, grinning from ear to ear. We intend to show that email – if it ever comes – to Yana Gupta. We hope she knows how much her ‘market value’ has gone up over the last week and what one such wardrobe malfunction can do for one’s popularity.
