Rituu Sachdev aka Desi Shakira’s Waka Waka se Chauka Chakkaa banned?

Posted by IndiaNewsInfo.com on September 26, 2010

By a Futuristic Media Network Correspondent

A report in the Hindustan Times on Sunday says that a Pune-based organisation Maharashtra Vikas Sangathana (MVS) has demanded a ban on Desi Shakira aka Rituu Sachdev’s Waka Waka se Chaukaa Chakkaa remix music video. Shyam Gore, president of the MVS is hell-bent on his stand and has even threatened to tear up posters and hoardings promoting the allegedly offending song. They have threatened to drag the actress and promoter of the remix video to court and if that does not work, will further their agitation, they claim.

Shyam Gore of the MVS who spoke to this reporter said that videos like Rituu Sachdevs’ corrupt the youth and are a bad influence on the culture and tradition of India. He vowed not to stop their agitation until the singer/composer and producer apologised and removed the offending parts of the video.

According to the report, a few days into the launch of the Indian parody of Shakira’s FIFA anthem Waka Waka se Chauka chakkaa — issues have already popped up. The internet version of the single remix track along with the music video was released on Thursday at Vie Lounge at Juhu in Mumbai. The Maharashtra Vikas Sangathan, a social organisation from Pune has objected to the use of about 20 seconds of the National Anthem in the song, says the Hindustan Times report.

The remix has been conceptualised by Tollywood star Rituu Sachdev and produced by Twilight Films. Apart from using Jai Hind… from Jana Gana Mana, the remix also borrows from AR Rahman’s Vande Mataram, followed by a few frames of the National Flag, which too has been dragged into the controversy.

Rituu Sachdev claims that the song has not been made for any commercial gain and is meant to inspire Indian cricketers and the sport itself. “This is a non-profit project. There is so much muck raised about corruption in cricket both on and off the field. It’s an inspirational remix song. I will not remove anything from this video or song,” says Sachdev, adding “I have done this for my country and my cricketers. They (MVS) are only creating an issue to gain publicity. They are objecting to the content only because I have coloured my hair blond, and I am wearing a short skirt, but that is how young people dress these days. What is wrong with that?”

“We will not accept someone insulting our National Flag and Anthem. There is a girl in a short skirt dancing in front of the Flag in the video, and we shall not sit quietly and watch this vulgarity,” says Shyam Gore, from the Maharashtra Vikas Sangathan.

RITUU SACHDEV MUSIC VIDEO LAUNCH EVENT

Posted by IndiaNewsInfo.com on September 25, 2010

Purple Fire Films launched an inspirational and patriotic remix music video titled Waka Waka Se Chauka Chakkaa featuring actress and model Rituu Sachdev as Desi Shakira. The remix music video is produced and directed by Flynn Remedios and is distributed through the online and internet medium. The entire project is a non-profit, non-commercial venture with a social message conveyed through music, song and dance and inspired by popular music tracks from across the world. The video was launched by Rituu Sachdev at Vie Lounge at Juhu in Mumbai. Present at the event was producer of Humlog and advertisting personality Shobha Doctor and distributor Hemraj Aggarwal besides others.

The 21-year-old, former air-hostess with Air India, Rituu Sachdev who is the brain behind the entire concept of the remix video says, ““I have always been a great fan of Shakira and A R Rahman. If Shakira can sing and perform for the World Cup, I thought of making a remix of that track and dedicate it to our own cricketers, cricket and sports administrators and for the CWG. With all the muck raised on and off the field, with allegations of spot fixing and match fixing and the corruption in the administration of cricket and the CWG, I figured an inspirational and patriotic track was the need of the hour. So I made my own remix at home.” Being a computer geek, Rituu got the track remixed on her own. She has also added a few inputs from A R Rahman’s Vande Mataram into her track and has re-sung parts of the lyrics herself. Rituu Sachdev expresses her thanks and acknowledges the original copyright owners of the music, lyrics and composition that inspired her to produce this remix.

Says director and producer of this video Flynn Remedios, “Rituu Sachdev is a very talented and multi-faceted artiste and I wish her all the best. She not only remixed the track initially on her own, but also came up with the entire concept for the project. Even the title for the album was coined by Rituu in a jiffy. We are proud to have Rituu Sachdev as our exclusive artiste and look forward to many more projects with her. We are also grateful to Yogesh Lakhani of Bright Advertising and Basab Paul of Vie Lounge for their whole-hearted support towards this project.”

Rituu Sachdev played a lead role in the Kannada film Srikmoksha released in June 2010. She also features as lead in a Telugu and a Tamil film as well as music videos Chahat and Rahbar released by Venus Music and sung by Alka Yagnik.

RITUU SACHDEV’S SHOOT STALLED BY SICKLE -WEILDING LOCALS ON ALIBAUG BEACH

Posted by IndiaNewsInfo.com on September 22, 2010

21-year-old cherubic actress Rituu Sachdev was in for a rude shock on Monday. The actress was shooting the promos for her forthcoming remix music video titled Waka Waka se Chaukaa Chakkaa on the beaches of Alibaug – a picturesque village-like area in the vicinity of Mumbai across the Arabian Sea. The promos were part of a program on a popular music channel. Everything was going well when out of the blue about 15-20 locals intervened and ordered the unit to immediately stop the shoot.

Says Rituu Sachdev’s publicist and business manager Flynn Remedios, “We had informed the local police beat chowky about the shoot as police permission is normally required for shoots on public beaches. In spite of this, the locals prevented us from completing the shoot.” A police official on condition of anonymity said that they asked the unit and TV channel producer to stop the shoot to avoid any law and order problems. The locals were apparently upset that their beaches were being used by “outsiders” who brought disgrace to their culture and tradition. “They were in a ferocious mood and some of them were carrying sickles and lathis. We didn’t want any untoward incident or endanger out expensive equipment,” so we literally packed up our expensive equipment, boarded our vehicles and fled.

Says Rituu, “I wasn’t even wearing anything vulgar. Was just wearing hot pants, a sarong and a tube top. I wasn’t even wearing swimwear or a bikini. I wonder what they found vulgar in my attire or looks,” said a disappointed Rituu.

Rituu’s remix music video is aptly named Waka Waka se Chaukaa Chakkaa and dedicated to Indian cricketers and the Common Wealth Games. “With all the muck being raised on and off the field of cricket, with allegations of spot fixing and match fixing and the corruption in the administration of cricket and the CWG, I thought an inspirational and patriotic track was the need of the hour. So I made my own remix at home,” explains Rituu, adding, “This is not a commercial release. We don’t intend to make any money out of it. We recognize and accept that the track and the rights to the music are owned by a particular music company or singer or composer. I am a great fan of Shakira’s music as well as a cricket buff. I never miss a single cricket match. I have made the remix at home on my own with my limited knowledge of music. I hope all cricket lovers will like my initiative and patriotism and support my cause to promote corruption-free cricket not just in India, but all over the world.”

RITUU SACHDEV IN WAKA WAKA SE CHAUKAA CHAKAA

Posted by IndiaNewsInfo.com on September 19, 2010

By Pratap Deb – Futuristic Media Network

Actress Rituu Sachdev is truly multi-talented. The 21-year-old was so impressed by Shakira’s Waka Waka track that she decided to make her own remix of the same. She has aptly named it Waka Waka se Chauka Chakkaa.

Rituu is not just a cricket buff but also an aficionado who could give Mandira Bedi a run for her money. Says Rituu, “If Shakira can sing and perform for the World Cup, I thought of making a remix of that track and dedicate it to our very own cricketers. With all the muck being raised on and off the field of cricket, with allegations of spot fixing and match fixing and the corruption in the administration of cricket, I thought an inspirational and patriotic track was the need of the hour. So I made my own remix at home.” Being a computer and music expert herself, Rituu got the track remixed on her own. She has also added a few inputs from A R Rahman’s Vande Mataram into her track.

The music video was shot last week and is slated for an online release the coming week. Rituu will be seen performing an Indianised version of Shakira’s dance performance. “This is not a commercial release. I hope all cricket lovers will like my initiative and patriotism and support my cause to promote corruption-free cricket not just in India, but all over the world,” says the chirpy Rituu Sachdev.

Yes we do love your brave attempt Rituu and also love you….

Will Salman Khan play himself in big-budget Tamil film?

Posted by IndiaNewsInfo.com on September 19, 2010

By Frank Franklyn – Futuristic Media Network

Will Bollywood badshah and heart throb of millions of cinema goers across the world Salman Khan play himself in a big budget Tamil film?

Salman Khan’s fan following in the south is so strong that a Tamil film producer B R Krishnan of B R K Films is making a film on the life of Salman Khan. Tentatively titled “Anna Salman” or “Brother Salman”, the film is inspired by the ups- and-downs in the life and love relationships of Bollywood badshah Salman Khan.

We have now learnt that B R Krishnan would like to have Salman Khan play himself in the film. Says Krishnan, “I was scouting for a south (Tamil) super star to play the role. But my director suggested we approach Salman Khan and talk to him about the project. The film portrays Salman Khan – the main protagonist as a nice person and kind-hearted soul who by some chance of fate ends up in trouble all the time. But truth eventually triumphs and the hero’s innocence is proved. The hero emerges triumphant after successfully facing all his problems and downfalls in life. We have several south stars like Rajnikant or Asin doing Hindi films. So why can’t a bollywood star play the lead role in a Tamil film. Besides, my film is multi-lingual and it will be released all over India. We have sent feelers to Salman Khan with a brief description, summary and character sketch of our project. We hope Salman Khan likes the script and agrees to do this film,” said B R Krishnan, adding that he was waiting for a feedback from his casting director.

Mumbai-based actress and model Rituu Sachdev who has done lead roles in south films like the recently-released Kannada film Sri moksha has been signed on to play the main lead. Rituu who plays a double role in the film is the love interest of the hero.

The 22-year-old Rituu who originally hails from Delhi – but has now made Mumbai her permanent home, is herself a great Salman Khan fan. She started her career as an air-hostess flying for the national carrier but soon gave up flying to fulfill her childhood dream of acting. With an hour-glass figure Rituu has already featured in four south films (Telugu, Kannada and Tamil) and done several TV commercials and print advertisements.  She was seen in music videos Chahat and Rahbar released in July by Venus Music and sung by renowned singer Alka Yagnik. She has also shot for two more music videos which are due for release.

B R K Films has produced several regional language films in the south and this will be their eight project. “This is a big budget project and the film production standards will be comparable to the best in the world. We are casting two well-known south heroes for this project and the film will be shot partly in Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangkok and London,” says the producer, refusing to name the rest of the Tamil star cast.

RITUU SACHDEV IN TAMIL FILM ON SALMAN KHAN

Posted by IndiaNewsInfo.com on September 15, 2010

By Frank Franklyn – Futuristic Media Network

Dabaang’s hit star the much-loved Chulbul Pandey has many admirers all over the world. Apparently Salman Khan’s fan following in the south is so strong that a Tamil film producer B R Krishnan of B R K Films is making a film on the life of Salman Khan. Tentatively titled “Anna Salman” or “Brother Salman”, the film is inspired by the ups- and-downs in the life and love relationships of Bollywood badshah Salman Khan.

Mumbai-based actress and model Rituu Sachdev who has done lead roles in south films like the recently-released Kannada film Sri moksha has been signed on to play the main lead. Rituu who plays a double role in the film is the love interest of the hero. Says producer B R Krishnan, “I am still looking for a hero to play Salman’s role. The film is not based on Sallu bhai’s life, it is only vaguely inspired by it. We all love Salman Khan and his movies. When I read the script, I immediately decided to do the movie.”

Rituu has signed on almost a dozen other projects including a popular Reality Show on a mainline entertainment channel and is a promising face worth watching.

Rituu Sachdev was also in the news recently for receiving threatening calls from another Hyderabad-based producer who claimed to be a henchman for underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and was trying to force the young actress into signing his film. Rituu registered a complaint with the Versova Police station in suburban Mumbai and the police are investigating the source of the crank calls.

Sources say that the film script has similar incidents like the Bandra bakery accident and the Black Buck poaching case. However, the hero is shown as a good character who ends up at the wrong place and the wrong time and messes up. The hero also has a torrid relationship with a young actress – an apparent reference to Salman Khan’s troubled past relationship with Aishwarya Rai to be played out by Rittu Sachdev. “Out and out the film is a comedy and the hero comes out of his troubles triumphant and much loved by everyone, in spite of the initial bad phase,” says producer B R Krishnan.

ACTRESS AND MODEL RITUU SACHDEV HARASSED BY CRANK CALLER – FILES POLICE COMPLAINT

Posted by IndiaNewsInfo.com on September 12, 2010

Mumbai-based actress and model Rituu Sachdev who has done lead roles in south films like the recently-released Kannada film Sri moksha is being harassed by a crank caller. She was earlier threatened by a producer from Hyderabad and feels that the producer and the crank caller may be connected.

Rituu has filed a complaint at the Versova Police station in suburban Mumbai. Says Rituu, “The police have registered an NC (NC No 2043/10) under sections 504 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code for issuing threats and harassing a woman and are trying to track down the culprit.

According to Ashwin Salian of Twilight Celeb Management – the firm handling Rituu Sachdev’s work and publicity, the producer’s agent met her during an audition in Mumbai. She was subsequently introduced to the producer who agreed to sign her for two of his films. However after enquiries Rituu found out that the producer was of a dubious character and most of the information given by him was incorrect. She hence refused to work with him and turned down the film offers.

First the producer started calling her and sweet-talking her and later on began to harass her by calling her from different phone nos. when the actress stopped taking his calls. He threatened her with dire consequences if she didn’t agree to his demands and work with him.

The 22-year-old Rituu originally hails from Delhi but has now made Mumbai her permanent home. She started her career as an air-hostess flying for the national carrier but soon gave up flying to fulfill her childhood dream of acting.

With an hour-glass figure Rituu has already featured in four south films (Telugu, Kannada and Tamil) and done several TV commercials and print advertisements.  She was seen in a music video released by Venus Music and sung by renowned singer Alka Yagnik. She has also shot for two more music videos which are due for release.

Rituu has signed on almost a dozen other projects including a popular Reality Show on a mainline entertainment channel.

Recently, Rituu began receiving crank and at times threatening and vulgar calls from local phones in Mumbai and suspects that the same producer or his agents may be behind the crank calls.
