GBSA’s Wind Surfing Training Camp from 1st to 30th April at Goa 

The Goa Beach Sports Academy (GBSA) in association with the Water & Beach Sports Promotion Forum has announced its annual wind surfing training camp at Dona Paula in Goa from 1^st April to 30^th April 2012. Headed and promoted by national windsurfing champion Donald Coelho, the GBSA will conduct the camp for youngsters in two categories – professional training for those aiming to participate in state or national level wind surfing or allied water sport competitions and amateur training for those who just want to learn the sport of wind surfing for the thrill that it offers. The camp is open to children from 10 years of age to adults of all ages who may just want to “try it out”.

A contest for camp participants both in the professional and amateur category will also be held which will culminate in the grand finale of the camp. The contest will be telecast live on all local TV channels in Goa and also on a couple of national and international channels. An added attraction will be a beach volleyball one-day-trial match and a weekend after party for participants and others, the details of which will be announced shortly.

Says promoter and brain behind the camp Donald Coelho, “Wind Surfing is a very thrilling activity and the purpose of the camp is to encourage children and youth to develop a competitive adventure spirit and introduce them to the world of water sports which is oft neglected in India. We also encourage corporates and philanthropists to come forward to financially support this camp so that it becomes affordable for everyone.”

The GBSA has written to the Tourism Departments of the Government of Goa and the Government of India for their support and stamp of approval on the event. “We are awaiting their reply,” explained Donald Coelho.

The Academy has within its ranks Indian Badminton personality Mr. Anil Madgavkar who is also the pioneer of the Goa Yachting Association. Sunny Leone turns down Mahesh Bhatt’s film Jism 2

According to reliable sources adult porn star and participant in Bigg Boss, Season 5 on Colors, Sunny Leone has turned down Mahesh Bhatt’s film offer citing contractual obligations and unavailability of dates due to prior commitments in the US and Canada. However, the real reason is the ‘meager remuneration’ offered to the porn star, according to a close confidante of Sunny Leone.

Sources told AsiaWire that Sunny Leone is not comfortable shooting in India and requested Bhatt’s production house, FishEye Network to shoot her portion of the film in the US. She also quoted a fee of Rs 3 crore for a ten day shoot, a figure that the Bhatt’s are unwilling to pay her.

A reported earlier though father-and-daughter duo Mahesh and Pooja Bhatt would love to have Sunny Leone shed her clothes for the opening scene of their forthcoming sequel to the 2003 hit erotic thriller Jism, Sunny Leone had privately expressed her displeasure to a few close aides.

The 2003 film starred John and Bipasha, but this time with much fanfare Mahesh Bhatt walked into the Bigg Boss house to “offer” Sunny Leone the role.  The adult porn star though in her heart of hearts is not impressed. Said a source close to Sunny Leone on condition of anonymity, “Privately, Sunny is not very happy with the role. She has had enough of nudity to last not just one lifetime but several lifetimes. Her life in Canada and the US is different. In India, Sunny would like to shed her nude adult porn star image and do main line Bollywood cinema. Sunny wants to try her hand at Hindi movies not nudity and flesh show. She has had enough of all that. Bollywood films has always been Sunny’s dream as a kid growing up in Canada. She always wanted to be some sort of a Madhuri Dixit in Bollywood, but fate took her elsewhere. Now given a chance, she would like to make her dream come true,” a close aide of Sunny Leone told Flynn Remedios, editor of MumbaiWire.in.

Even Sunny Leone was quoted to an Indian friend saying, “If I want to do nude and stuff, there is enough scope for me in Hollywood. As such the Indian Censor Board will not allow any nudity.” Given Indian laws on nudity and obscentity and the long-drawn out judicial and legal system in India, Sunny Leone’s international managers and advisors are skeptical of the adult actress’ foray into Indian cinema. They are worried about her having to spend her time doing the rounds of Indian court rooms instead of studios. An associate of Sunny Leone’s US agent who spoke to Flynn Remedios, said, “It’s nice that Indian producers are offering Sunny Bollywood films, but we hope she is not offered only nude roles. The legal system in India is very tiring and we are worried about Sunny having to make trips to Indian courts, should her images in an Indian film offend the sensibilities of a certain segment of Indian viewers.”

Sunny Leone is a known name in Hollywood and has contracts with some of the top adult entertainment TV channels and adult home video brands. The money that porn stars make abroad is something she will not get in India even for a main lead in a Bollywood film, keeping in mind the time she will have to spend on shooting and promotions.  The reception that an adult porn star would get from the general Indian public is also playing on Sunny’s mind. Right now she is safely esconsed in a 5-star hotel with a lot of security. But shooting outside is an all-together different story. Sunny’s managers are also worried about the moral police in India. “There is a different India that doesn’t ‘like’ Sunny Leone and will try to make trouble for us. We are taking all this into consideration before saying yes or no,” Sunny’s aide said.

Friends of Sunny Leone also opined that the Bhatt’s were casting Sunny only for the ‘automatic and free’ publicity that the project would get due to a high-profile and controversial international actor. A canandian friend who has worked with Sunny felt that “Mahesh Bhatt has offered Sunny Leone the role not because he is particularly thrilled with her acting abilities or because he genuinely wants to give her a foothold in Bollywood. He is doing it only to promote his film for free.”

Umair Zafar designs TV star Deepshika’s wedding trousseau

Mumbai-based, well-known fashion designer Umair Zafar has designed TV star Deepshika’s wedding trousseau including a special engagement gown designed in a Christian style. Deepshika will marry Keshav Arora on 19^th January 2012 at a plush wedding ceremony. The engagement and other traditional ceremonies will be on 18^th January as first reported by Futuristic Media Network two months ago. We didn’t want to disturb Deepshika who was very busy with her last minute wedding arrangements, but Keshav Arora said Deepshika looks beautiful in anything that she wears. However Keshav admitted that he is waiting to see his bride-to-be in her bridal finery. Here’s wishing our ‘good friends’ Deepshika and Keshav many many years of marital bliss.

Umair Zafar refused to speak to us about Deepshika’s trousseau citing that it was his client’s special day and he will not give away any details. He directed us to Deepshika saying, “Please talk to her. I cannot give any details to the press about my client’s plans.”

However a little birdie told us, “With a strong background of craftsmanship, Umair has designed a Christian wedding gown for Deepshika’s wedding ceremony. The gown is made of creamish-coloured gold bridal satin with a self velvet floral design on the neckline with highlighted Swaroski work all over. The gown is layers with very subtle shimmery net to give a bridal look and has a tail like that in the regal era.” We even have a photograph of Deepshika’s gown, but we will not release it as we do not want to spoil the surprise element for one of our favourite Tv stars.

IAAF protests against ‘Sunny Leone videos’ promoted by Mobile Companies

The Indian Artistes and Actors Forum (IAAF) have strongly protested against the SMS and flash message promotion of adult porn star Sunny Leone’s videos by certain mobile companies. In a letter addressed to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, the Ministry of Company Affairs and the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, IAAF spokesperson Flynn Remedios has stated that certain mobile operators in India are indirectly promoting a porn actress Sunny Leone – a participant on the recently concluded reality show Bigg Boss Season 5 on TV channel Colors by promoting her videos.

“While it is not sure if the video content promoted directly includes porn or adult videos, we strongly object to this SMS and flash message campaign unleashed by certain mobile phone operators in India. The content servers are not located in India and the links on these WAP and mobile internet websites can also point to Sunny Leone’s other adult web content including her personal website which is a pay and use hard core porn site offering videos and other photographic content,” said Flynn Remedios of the IAAF adding that Sunny Leone is a porn star and promoting Sunny Leone indirectly accounts to promoting pornography which is explicitly forbidden by Indian laws.

This comes in the wake of the recent approval of the central government to prosecute and summon international social networking websites like Facebook, Orkut and search giant Google for promoting objectionable content which offends the religious sentiments of certain sections of society.

Bollywood actors love their Water Bottles

It is well known that Paris Hilton used to give her dog branded water from a bottle coated with Swarovski crystals and costing upwards of Rs 2000. The brand concerned is one of the world’s most expensive and exquisite fine waters Bling H2O. In India, bollywood stars may not treat their pets to expensive branded fine or gourmet waters, but personally very concerned about the water they drink.

We tried to find out what our Bollywood celebs drink to keep fit and keep their skin so glowing and translucent.  Besides a lot of juice and other health drinks, the main ingredient of their dietary component is H20 or water. Here is what we found out. However, before we go ahead we would like to clarify that we have this information from our top secret sources – managers, secretaries, publicists and the like – merely drinking a particular brand doesn’t mean endorsing or recommending the brand and we would like to clarify that this article is not intended to do so. We also spoke to owners of fine dining restaurants in Mumbai frequented by Bollywood stars to find out whats on the water menu of celebs.

So here we go: Boman Irani who is a very popular actor with films like Munnabhai MBBS, 3 Idiots, Housefull, Game, Don 2, etc was endorsing a brand Kent Water purifier, but we learnt that Boman personally prefers bottled or packaged drinking water, particularly on the sets. Boman Irani is known to prefer brands like Evian, Mulshi Springs natural spring water and Aquafina. Bollywood badshah Salman Khan, father Salim Khan and the Khan family again prefer Mulshi Springs while hot bod Bipasha Basu is a great fan of Aquafina and Evian. Khiladi Akshay Kumar is not so brand conscious but drinks Evian, Himalayan, Aquafina and Mulshi Springs depending on availability.

Dia Mirza, Gul Panag, Neha Dhupia and Celina Jaitley also shuttle between Aquafina, Mulshi Springs, Evian and either Kinley or even Bisleri Mountain Water. Deepika Padukone has a soft corner for Evian and Mulshi Springs again depending on availability, we were told, but were not able to confirm this. King Khan or SRK drinks Evian, Mulshi Springs, Aquafina, Perrier, Bling H20, Fiji and the like. Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif are also very very particular about the water they drink. While in India both of them prefer Evian, Mulshi Springs or Himalayan, while abroad they drink normally Evian or Fiji. Mallika Sherawat also prefers Evian, Mulshi Springs or Himalayan and Kinley in India, while in the US likes Dasani or Perrier or Evian.

While shooting abroad, bollywood stars prefer Evian, Tasmanian Rain, Bling H20, Mulshi Springs – which is the only Indian fine water available in Europe and USA,  Perrier, Dasani, Fiji, Poland Springs, Ice Mountain, etc.

We were not able to figure out the preferences of Rani Mukherjee, Preiti Zinta, Asin, who also have a great and glowing skin.

Guess which water Salman Khan trusts??

We all love the Dabaang Salman Khan. After Bigg Boss 5, and the recent success of his films Sallu miya’s ranking and popularity has increased several fold. Salman Khan is the undisputed King of Bollywood or Bollywood Badshah as he is referred to by many. Besides a very rigorous fitness routine, Salman Khan maintains a strict diet. And guess which water the macho Khan or bhai trusts? One of the brands that Salman swears by is Mulshi Springs.

South actress Nisha Yadav celebrates her birthday with street kids in Mumbai

Actress Nisha Yadav aka Ameesha Yadav who shot to fame with her film on corruption inspired by Anna Hazare’s struggle against corruption, celebrated her birthday on Thursday in Mumbai with street kids. She went to a home for orphans and street kids in the morning and sponsored a party for the little brats who were surprised at the gifts that Nisha brought them. “Normally on my birthday, my friends would give me gifts. This year, I decided to give some under privileged kids some gifts on my birthday. I am happy that the kids enjoyed the party, including the special lunch that we arranged for them,” says Nisha who turned 22 on Thursday.

Nisha who is currently shooting for a Tamil film has also been signed on for two more Bollywood movies. She recently completed shooting for a Punjabi music video and is also part of a reality show which goes on air next week. “I am shooting almost five days a week,” she says adding that she is thankful for the support that she has got from the south film industry, particularly Tamil directors and producers.

Veena Malik’s disappearing act another publicity stunt, says publicist Flynn Remedios

Veena Malik’s disapearing act few weeks ago was another publicity stunt says journalist and publicist Flynn Remedios of Mumbaiwire.in who interviewed several members from the production team, her co-stars and others on the sets of the film from where she ‘apparently disappeared’. “All her co-stars who spoke to me on condition of anoymity have confirmed that the disappearing act was another publicity stunt cooked by the director-producer of the film and Veena Malik’s manager. In fact when I spoke to Pratik Mehta on two different days, he gave me very contradicting answers. First he said, Veena Malik left the sets in a car. The next time I spoke to him, he said Veena Malik called for a private taxi and boarded the taxi alone to an undisclosed location. The entire episode including the police complaint was fake. The Mumbai police must initiate action against Veena Malik and her producer for wasting their time and attempting to file a false complaint only for publicity,” opines Flynn Remedios.

Apparently Veena Malik took a high dose of anti biotics prescribed to her by her doctor for some fever or viral flu which put her off to sleep for  two days much to the chargin of her film producer Hemant Madhukar who rushed to the Bandra police station to file a missing complaint as his actress did not turn up on the sets the next day. However, most of the cast and crew knew a day in advance that there was not going to be any shoot the next day, says Flynn Remedios adding that even the spot boys knew what was going on. After Veena Malik’s nude FHM magazine shoot which garnered much-more-than-expected publicity, Madhukar decided to get some free publicity for the film project which features Veena Malik in a negative role. “Yeah tohsirf publicity ke liye hein, “ said a spot hand who had attended to Veena a while before she allegedly disappeared.

Currently, Veena Malik is in Dubai. She is expected to be back in Mumbai end-January when shooting for her film resumes. “Apparently Veena Malik had to leave India and come back as per Visa regulations. So I was not able to get her response to this ‘disappearing act’, says Remedios, adding, ‘but all the cast and crew present on the sets of the film were not at all surprised at the turn of events’.
