Veteran actress Poonam Dasgupta  who has featured in over 150 films in the last 15 years and played main lead roles opposite the likes of stars like Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher and Dharmendra to name a few, hit out viciously at director and producer Mahesh Bhatt for his special visit to the Bigg Boss house to “speak to porn star Sunny Leone about his film and ‘ask’ her if she was interested” as reported in the media. “Mahesh Bhatt is an idiot. He is growing old and senile. He has really lost it. A good and reputed director or producer would never do stunts like this. He could have waited for one or two weeks till Sunny Leone was out of the Bigg Boss House. He has lowered his own status and the status of the entire Hindi film industry by his so-called publicity stunt. Either he is getting big money from Colors for this stunt, or he is completely mad. Or he wants to compete with other Reality TV stars like Raja Chaudhary, Rahul Mahajan, Rakhi Sawant, etc?”

“If it was so urgent and he wanted to meet Sunny Leone for some god-forsaken film, he could have done it in secrecy. Lawyers, artiste managers and family members are allowed to meet Bigg Boss inmates under exceptional circumstances. Mahesh Bhatt could have met Sunny Leone privately instead of tom-toming it all over the media. In doing so he has not only made a fool of himself but also belittled the standing of the film industry. What will the world think? Our filmmakers are so desperate for porn stars and Indians are so hungry for the trash and scum from the west, that they will go out of their way and visit the sets to meet them. Or is that India is so devoid of talent that there is no woman left for Mahesh Bhatt to cast. Does he visit the girls who are victims of the casting couch? Speaking to Flynn Remedios, Editor of Mumbaiwire.in, Poonam Dasgupta said, “As a reputed film maker, Bhatt has made a big fool of himself. His publicity-seeking antics have angered a lot of senior actors and film industry professionals who may not come forward and speak out because they do not want to get involved. Why should we give so much importance to a porn star? She has chosen the career of a porn star of her own free will. She is making a lot of money selling and peddling porn in the West. It’s not that Sunny Leone was born in utmost poverty or was forced into the porn industry. She chose it on her own free will for the quick and enormous returns that it provides. Why should film-makers like Mahesh Bhatt shed tears for her now? Either he is really stupid or has completely gone mad.”

Even when it comes to manufacturing, countries like China and the US are dumping their unsold products in India be it electronics or even automobiles. Dolly Bindra, meanwhile would not confirm or deny news reports that Colors had approached her for a guest appearance in Bigg Boss Season 5. “I am an artiste and if I am approached I will consider every offer. It depends on whether I am free during that time and other issues. I discuss every offer with my husband and my family before taking a decision was her very diplomatic reply.”

She is just another porn star, part of the trash churned out by capitalist societies of the west. TV star Deepshikha’s 19th Jan wedding with Keshav Arora to be a lavish affair

Though Tv actress Deepshikha denied that any date has been fixed for her wedding with actor Keshav Arora, her family friend and spiritual consultant, the Delhi-based Vastu expert Manoj Jain confirmed that the Yeh Dooriyan star will indeed be getting married on 19^th of Jan 2012. “As her spiritual adviser, I have suggested this date and both Deepshikha and Keshav have found it suitable and acceptable. The couple has identified three venues for the grand celebration – Delhi, Indore and Mumbai. They are yet to confirm any two out of these three venues,” Manoj Jain said, adding that there would be a big celebration and both families will join in.

“She has gone through a lot of ups-and-downs in her life, but now she is very happy with Keshav Arora and the two are really made for each other. I wish her all the best in life and a lot of success and prosperity,” Jain added. The wedding was first reported by the Times of India. Deepshikha later stated that the date has not been finalized and her family astrologer is trying to figure it out.

Reacting to a report in the Times of India, Tv actress, producer and director Deepshikha Nagpal said, “Yes I am definitely getting married to Keshav Arora next year but no date has been fixed yet. I have asked my family astrologer to indentify a suitable and auspicious date but nothing has been confirmed yet.” Deepshikha made her directorial debut recently with Yeh Dooriyan. The film was co-producer by Keshav Arora and herself and the two even co-starred in the film.

She was earlier married to actor-producer Jeet Upendra and has a son out of her first marriage. It was reported earlier that the two have been living-in for some time now and are very much a couple. Reports indicated that the wedding would take place in Mumbai on January 19 and the sangeet and engagement would be held on January 17 and 18 respectively.

Speaking to this journalist, she said, “The show is at 10.30 pm and most kids are asleep by that time. Sunny Leone is a very warm, nice and straight-forward person and her choice of a career is not what is on display in the Bigg Boss house. They have never used the word porn or porn star inside the house. Kids who know how to use the internet would have access to porn online anyway. It’s for parents to install controls on the computers at home to ensure than kids don’t have access to porn. Having said that, Bigg Boss is about one’s character and not one’s choice of career.”

When asked if her introduction in the Bigg Boss house was driving traffic to her website which co-incidentally is a hard-core porn website, Pooja Bedi said, “Maybe, indirectly many viewers would be directed to her website, but that can happen even otherwise. News channels talk about such things all the time and the mere fact that she is an adult entertainer should not prejudice her as an individual in any way. Bigg Boss has all kinds of people. The latest to join the anti-Veena Malik and anti-Sunny Leone campaign spear-headed by the Indian Artistes and Actors Forum (IAAF) are TV actress and BJP politician Smriti Irani, fashion designer and BJP spokesperson Shaina NC, veteran actress Poonam Dasgupta Luthra and Mumbai-based stylist and fashion designer Umair Zafar.

Fashion designer Umair Zafar says, “Regarding the issue of inclusion of non-Indians, I believe charity begins at home. In india we have a tremendous amount of talent and they should be given  priority in a showbiz or any where the opportunities are. In the case of Veena Malik or Sunny Leone I beleive the channels are encashing on the negative element associated with them. Veena Malik is a Pakistani national and Sunny Leone is a Canadian Porn Star. I am sure Indians still believe in maintaining traditional decorum and will carve a niche for themselves in India and abroad with a positive image. As long as entertainment is concerned, it’s not that bad, but when it comes to long term employment, a priority should be given to Indians only.

The Indian Artistes and Actors Forum (IAAF) had announced earlier that it will not allow the telecast of the Veena Malik ka Swayamvar Swayamvar Reality Show on General Entertainment Channel Imagine.

Flynn Remedios, publicist and spokesperson for the IAAF said that the IAAF – a representative body of actors and artistes is not against any one individual in particular. “We are not against Veena Malik per se. We are against this trend of selecting foreign artistes for common roles in Indian television and films. When certain politicians raised their voice about this, we gave them the cold shoulder, but now the time has come for every Indian artiste to get up and take a stand. Thousands of Indian girls go through hell trying to get a bit role in a TV serial or a film. These production houses and channels must understand the sentiments and feelings of thousands of Indian artistes. Veena Malik is no great or unique actor or artiste. She is merely an item girl and starlet and is very much replaceable by so many Indian artistes. What is the USP that Veena Malik brings to the show, except for the fact that she is non-Indian. The channel is trying to stir up controversy and increase their own TRPs. We will teach them a lesson that they won’t forget. We will not damage their office or protest like some others have done. We will ask all patriotic Indians and Indian companies to stop watching or supporting Imagine and all other shows on the particular channel and this show in particular. This is our action plan for now. We will also approach the courts at a later date if the channel does not relent.”

Isn’t there need for some kind of social introspection on on what you are showing children and an impressionable society who at the click of channel is subjected to an adult porn star under the guise of a reality show.”

Mumbaiwire.in spoke to several other prominent citizens in Mumbai – the general refrain was “it is pathetic state of affairs. A reputed Tv channel like Colors is encouraging and indirectly promoting pornography in India because whenever someone tries to find out more about Sunny Leone on Google, they end up being subjected to hardcore porn images of the adult entertainer.

Opinion poll says Indian men prefer Poonam Jhawer to Veena Malik and Sunny Leone

 

An online opinion poll conducted by website mumbaiwire.in on Facebook has found that 60 per cent of Indian men between the age group of 25 to 40 found Indian actress and item girl Poonam Jhawer sexier, hotter and more desirable than Veena Malik and Sunny Leone put together.

Veena Malik is in the news as several organizations like the Indian Artistes and Actors Forum (IAAF) supported by several politicians cutting across party lines and actors including the CINTAA have strongly opposed her inclusion in the show Veena Malik ka Swayamvar. Canadian hardcore porn star of Indian descent Sunny Leone is currently a guest on the reality show Bigg Boss 5 on Colors channel.

According to Munish Arya one of the respondents, Poonam Jhawer is someone who is very Indian. “She is a desi girl and very natural. Her assets are natural, while Sunny Leone is plastic. The less said about Veena Malik the better,” he wrote in his comments.

Poonam Jhawer is the latest to support the IAAF. “There are so many drama queens, item girls, controversial models and the like in India. I do not understand why Imagine has to zero in only on Veena Malik. Shouldn’t Indian channels give priority to Indian women,” she asked. Ameesha Yadav: “I will undertake a nude SlutWalk March if Veena Ka Swayamvar goes on air”

South actress Ameesha Yadav has threatened to undertake a nude Slutwalk March or Besharmi Morcha in Mumbai if the Reality Show Veena Ka Swayamvar is aired by the general entertainment channel Imagine. Speaking to this reporter Ameesha Yadav – a member of the Indian Artistes and Actors Forum said, “Our forum has decided not to allow the telecast of the show. We have planned different methods of protest against the show. Some models and myself have decided to undertake a nude, silent Slutwalk March or Besharmi Morcha if the show is aired by Imagine.”

Ameesha Yadav did not specify in which city the nude, silent Slutwalk March will be held, but added that “they are considering various options. We will go ahead with our plan once the channel officially announces the dates of the show.”

Dr Nilesh Rane, Dj Jenny D, Rakhi Sawant want Veena Malik, Sunny Leone out

 

The Indian Artistes and Actors Forum (IAAF) has got support from various quarters including names like Member of Parliament Dr Nilesh Rane, fire-brand Dj Jenny D, drama queen Rakhi Sawant and many other bollywood producers and directors for its anti-Veena Malik and anti-Sunny Leone stance.

Member of Parliament and General Secretary of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee, Dr Nilesh Rane said, “There are a lot of talented, bold and even controversial Indian artistes who are struggling to make ends meet. I think they should be given a fair chance. I am speaking in my personal capacity and this is my personal view not party view. However, if there is any sort of agitation by the IAAF, I will give them my full support and stand by them.” Rane who is the elder son of Maharashtra Industries minister Narayan Rane came out very strongly against the policy of Tv channels of paying such astronomical sums to persons who probably didn’t deserve the money. “We have so many poor, struggling yet talented actors, singers and artistes. What are the Tv channels doing to promote and support them,” he asked?

Says Rakhi Sawant, “They (the channel and the production house SOL) could have selected any other woman from India. There are so many controversial or bold and outspoken girls like Sambhavna Seth, Kashmira Shah, Dj Jenny D, Poonam Pandey to name a few. Imagine should have chosen them. There are thousands of girls in India who are trying to get roles in films and Tv. Why have they selected a “sattebaaz” who has ruined the name of her own country? Once was probably ok, but now they are doing it again and again. I strongly condemn this move and join the protest.”
